Specific Memories
Sirenflower opened this show. When driving up, I was following another band member who was driving a blue Ford Escort. Somehow, I got behind another blue Ford Escort and got terribly lost and very, very late. So late, in fact, that they almost kicked us off the bill. I arrived in the nick of time and after a lightning fast sound check, played the opening harmonics to the song "Somewhere," which became our signature song. It was the first time we played that song live and it definitely took people by surprise. Many people told us afterwards that the whole bar seemed to be memorized. It was 1991 or 1992 and grunge hadn't fully broke out yet, but it definitely was starting to that night when we opened with that song. I also recall that our singer, Dave, started hopping around bar tables while singing.
